On Mar-10, 2025, The tragic death of BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav, a BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh, shook the UP's political landscape. He was allegedly poisoned by three unidentified assailants at his farm in Daftara village, Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. According to locals, The attackers flee the scene, after injecting him with a lethal poisonous substance.

Efforts were made to rush him to Aligarh for medical treatment, but tragically Yadav lost his war in route to Aligarh Medical hospital and succumbed to death. Scanning of CCTV footages and other investigations are in progress to collect more evidences. The police forces are trying to identify the killers, and The postmortem examination has yet to confirm the exact cause of death.

Yadav's political career was marked by his challenge to Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in the 2004 by-election from the Gunnaur assembly constituency. His contributions to the BJP and his community were significant, with his wife also serving as a three-time pradhan of Dabhaura Himachal.

The incident has raised concerns about security of political figures. Forensic teams have collected some evidence, including an empty injection and a helmet, and CCTV footages is also under review.



Lt. Gulfam also served the party as Jila Karyawahak of RSS in 1976 and Jila Mantri in Badaun district. Yadav had entered politics after leaving the job of a Lekhpal and made a special place for himself in BJP on the basis of his honesty. He was a known honest person in the area. In 2004, He also battled in election against former SP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, leading BJP, on the fields of Gannaur Assembly. He lost the election by a huge margin.

Considering Gulfam Singh Yadav as a senior worker, the BJP also made him a member of the UP's Backward Classes Commission. While in 2016, he had held the post of regional vice-president of the BJP of Western Uttar Pradesh. Currently, Gulfam Singh Yadav was working as the in-charge of Sambhal assembly constituency.
